Connecticut Cake Smash First Birthday Photographer

 

There is just no other way to describe this little cutie. He was just so Dapper! So well dressed, sophisticated and full of smiles! I met Benjamin around the holidays when his parents came in for a Mini Session. Even outside in the middle of winter and the freezing cold, this little guy smiled and laughed in every photograph! His Cake Smash was no different. Full of belly laughs and sweet baby giggles.

PRE Cake Smash Portrait Photos

 

We started Benjamin’s first birthday session of with some simple portrait photos. I like to try and capture their adorable smiles and sweet personality. The portrait photos are kept clean and simple, focusing on how cute the baby is. Benjamin was in no short supply of smiles! The little rubber ducky always catches their attention. Benjamin and Rubber Ducky had a fun Bath time!

The Cake Smash!!!

 

And now for the FUN part! The part where the mess gets made! Benjamin’s parents wanted something Vintage and Dapper. I think we came up with the perfect set up for him. Vintage books (these are literally first editions of some famous Children’s books from my Husband’s rare collection… shhh) with old lanterns, antique suitcases, greenery and some cute little old man reading glasses. His outfit sealed the deal with his adorable little suspenders, hat and bow tie. But the CAKE! The cake was perfect with its cream and berries and banana flavored cake. I am not sure why I have not thought of this in the past, but the addition of the fruit was such a perfect idea! Babies are used to eating fruit and so Benjamin got straight into demolishing that cake. Once he tasted the sweet cream, that was it. We could not stop him. At one point he had a full fist in his mouth!
