I specialize in capturing the joy, the giggles and all the messy sweetness of your baby’s First Birthday in a relaxed, stress free studio environment.
NBP offers fun and creative custom designed cake smash sets providing a unique experience for each Baby.
Cake Smash Sessions are photographed in the Roxbury CT Studio. All props, sets, decor are provided!

The Family Add-On allows you to add a short 20-25 minute mini session to your Cake Smash Session. Sessions may take place in the Studio or Outdoors on a property located close to the studio.

Cake Smash Q & A
All sessions are custom designed and set up before you arrive for your session. All decor, backdrops and props are included in your package. Natalie Buck Photography has a designer wardrobe available for babies to borrow outfits for their Pre-Cake Smash portrait photos. (Deluxe Sessions Only)
Clients must bring their own Cake Smash outfit.
Due to possible unknown allergies, Natalie Buck Photography does NOT provide the cake for your Cake Smash Session. However, I do have an amazing local baker who I can recommend. She designs and makes most of the cakes that you see in my cake smash sessions.
Upon Booking, I will provide you with her information and you can reach out to her to design and purchase your cake. She will help design your cake to match your theme.
If ordered through the bakery, I provide a complimentary pick-up service so that you do not have to worry about picking up your cake on the day of your session. Cakes start at $30+ for simple designs.
The best time to book your date is about 3-4 weeks prior to your baby’s birthday or special event. This allows time for editing, processing and printing your photos in time. It is best that your baby is not walking for the session. It is possible to still photograph a walking baby, it just becomes a lot more challenging and requires a workout from parents and adults.
Cake Smash sessions tend to book out a couple of months in advance. Deluxe Cake Smash sessions need at least a month to plan, design and order any necessary props and decor for your custom theme.
Clients will only need to provide the outfit the baby plans to wear for the actual cake smash and then also the cake for their session. Everything else is provided. Cakes can be ordered through the provided baker with complimentary pick up. If you do not wish to purchase through the baker, clients are responsible for ordering and bringing their cake with them.
Upon booking you will be provided with a prep guide with a few additional details and small things that you can bring to the session that will help your session run smoothly.
Yes, all cake smash sessions are for the BABY ONLY. If you would like to include sibling or family photos in your session, you are welcome to purchase the Family Add-On Mini Session. This is a short mini session that will take place prior to your cake smash session (Studio & Outdoor options available). Only parents and siblings of the baby are included in Family Session Add-On. Not available to extended family members.
