When I do Cake Smash, I go all out! I just love these sessions. They are so so much fun, full of smiles and giggles… well most of the time! Ha. In Ruby’s case it was all smiles, tongues and the cutest facial expressions I have ever seen! She was one happy little cherub! Her session was inspired with Pink Floral and Greenery. She wanted something girly but elegant and the soft pinks and muted greens were perfect for her vibe!
Cake Smash Sessions are not all about the CAKE. I try to capture some beautiful portrait photos of the littles before they get down and dirty. This is where their personalities shine and those little character traits appear. Ruby had the bum shuffle which i thought was the cutest thing ever! And that tongue! I have not words!
After we have had some fun utilizing the vintage props in the studio, thats when we put on the birthday suit and brought out the cake! I have to say, Ruby wasn’t much into her cake. Even the little trick of hiding the Cheerio’s in the back of the cake didn’t work. It was just too sticky for her liking. Totally get it, nothing worse than sticky fingers. Despite the lack of smashing, we were able to capture some adorable Birthday Photos! More cake to take home!
And Every Cake Smash Session would not be complete without it’s mini Milk Bath! I started adding these to the end of the session to ‘clean’ the baby off, but it turns out that most of the baby’s LOVE the Bath time more than the Cake time! Too funny. This was definitely the case for Ruby!
And when you thought this session was over… Nope! There is more adorable photos to come! My Cake Smash Sessions come with the option to add on a Mini Family Outdoor Session. Ruby’s parents wanted to get some beautiful photos with their baby as well, so they opted to add on the outdoor component. We headed out to the field with a few simple props and had some fun!
