Woodland Spring Cake Smash
This Spring Woodland Cake Smash theme was perfect for this little dude’s First Birthday Session. It had all the rustic, woodland vibes with a touch of Spring. His Mom wanted to keep the pallet on the neutral side, with a touch of greenery and a splash of Spring (without being to girly!) I think we nailed it! All the little woodland critters were just so adorable!
Pre-Cake Smash Portraits
Before we get the cake out, Deluxe Cake Smash Sessions start with some pre-cake smash portrait photos. These are photographed on set with some simple props. The goal is to capture some cute photos, that the baby isn’t necessarily covered in frosting. This little man was all smiles. He had so much fun!
Woodland Cake Smash
Not all babies like cake, and for those that don’t necessarily like eating the cake, I always have my wooden spoons available to allow the baby to smash the cake without necessarily getting frosting on their fingers. A lot of babies just don’t like textures and the ‘sticky’ feeling. Either way though, there is always plenty of cake smashing. This little Man loved eating cake and smushing frosting all over his face! He had zero issues with getting it all over himself, including his toes. The wooden spoons were just an added bones, providing a larger surface area for inhaling cake! haha.
I love it when the baby is 100% invested!

Bubble Bath Time!
Deluxe Cake Smash Sessions always end with tubby time! It is a great way to get the baby cleaned up and also have some fun! I have a few designer baby tubs to pick from. This vintage claw tub was perfect for this rustic woodland themed session. He had so much fun splashing around! I am not even sure what was going on, but were were there for all the cute shots!
