Best Connecticut Cake Smash First Birthday Photographer
Things don’t always go as planned…
Not all Cake Smash Sessions are created equal and go to plan. When you have twins, your probability halves (insert laughing emoji). I absolutely adore Ava and Avery. They came to the studio for their Newborn Session when they were a couple of months old. It was so lovely to see their pretty faces again. These two are just the most beautiful babies. But on this particular day, Ava was just not having it. Meanwhile, her sister Avery was in heaven! This might have been the most hilarious and comical session yet. Not because poor baby Ava hated cake, but mostly because these photos literally show how real life is with TWINS!
Pre – Cake Smash Portrait Photos
The tiwns’ mother contacted me to set up their cake smash session. She wanted something floral and girly, thus we ended up with this beautiful set up. It wasn’t all tears. We started the session off with some beautiful pre-portrait photos of the two sisters together. I pulled out the gorgeous vintage props for them, the claw bath tub and the rustic bed. They both wore designer Mia & Joy outfits which were just absolutely adorable.
Twins Cake Smash
Then it was time for Cake! I know I was excited. Anything that involves cake is my favorite part of the day. Unfortunately Ava did not have my same views! There was cake smashing, some tears and I’m not going to lie, quite a few laughs. They both eventually warmed up to it and in the end, it just turns out that Ava liked crackers better than cake.
MINI MILK BATH
The session usually finishes with a mini milk bath. This is great for cleaning the babies down and also provides some fun splashing photos. Turns out the twins LOVED the bath time. Go figure! Ava perked right up as soon as we popped her in the warm tub. Just goes to show, not everyone loves cake as much as I do!
