This might be one of my most favorite Cake Smash sets to date! The pastel colors, the ice cream, and this adorable little smiling face! So perfect for a first birthday celebration!
There was a lot of inspiration, love and work that went into this set. I had never created such a thing. I knew what I wanted, and a lot of it was just not available to purchase. So, I had to get my craft skills on and make this set up from scratch.
Labor of Love
Finding faux Ice Cream was no easy task. I spent hours watching tutorials online to figure out how to make my own faux ice cream. On one of my antique hunting days, I magically found these awesome old cardboard cone shapes. With a few coats of paint and some added texture, they made the perfect cones for my ice creams. The actual Ice Cream itself was made from a mixture of spackle, paint and flour. Sounds simple, but it was a lot of hard work and waiting patiently for days for them to dry. My handy husband was able to make the perfect stand for the cones to sit in.
Deluxe Cake Smash Sessions
Deluxe Cake Smash Sessions are custom themed sessions. Clients come to me with an idea of a theme they would like to use for their cake smash session. From there, I pull together inspiration, ideas and create the perfect set for your baby’s birthday. Each sessions starts with a couple of not so messy Portrait Photos, followed by the Cake Smash… and then the Bubble Bath!
When to book?
Cake Smash Sessions are extremely popular and book out in my calendar months in advance. It is best to reach out to me when your baby is about 7 months to start the booking process and picking a date for your session. I suggest that Cake Smash Sessions take place when the baby is about 11 months. This gives enough time for the session to take place, the editing of your photos, and any printing that needs to be done so that you have your photos in time for their birthday! It is recommended that the session take place before your baby is walking. Because we all know that walking babies and frosting are not a friendly combination. Haha.
