Classic Studio Newborn Session – Natalie Buck Photography
Connecticut Newborn Photographer – Baby Nala – Lakeville, CT
She was itty bitty, all of 6lbs. Baby Nala came into the studio for her Newborn Session with her parents and brand new Big Sister Niya. I don’t think I have met a more gorgeous set of sisters. These two were breathtaking. Niya was so photogenic and loved her sweet little sister so much. I found myself just mesmerized and I just couldn’t stop taking photos of them. Sibling photos are some of my favorites, and definitely my most requested. But these too, oh my heart!
After chatting to mom about styling Nala’s Studio Newborn Session, she wanted some classic neutrals with some pretty shades of pinks. I am always inspired by fresh florals, especially those that are in bloom at the time. Nala was born right when the Lilacs had blossomed. I was able to pick some fresh Lilac flowers right from my yard. Ahhh they smelt amazing and they made the perfect touch to Nala’s session!
Pretty in pinks…
I love adding a touch of vintage and lace to my girl sessions. Its so beautiful, timeless and classy. The neutral tones in these photos bring out Nala’s beautiful skin tones. This little doll was perfection. Sweet little lips and the adorable back wrinkles. I love baby wrinkles! Nala was full of so many little facial expressions and tiny pouty lips.
Dad was a huge basket ball fan, coaching basket ball to a kids school teams. It was a special request to include a basket ball into Nala’s photos with her daddy. I love how little she looks compared to the basket ball. This will be a fun photo to look back on in years to come and remember how tiny she really was.
I always try to encourage family, parent and sibling photos in each session. Sometimes mom’s just really don’t feel up to being in front of the camera right after giving birth. Hey, I totally get it! I try to remind them that this is for their baby. When they grow up they will be able to look back on a photograph of their mother holding them as a baby. I know that is something that I would treasure. For those that really still don’t want to be in front of the camera, I try to at least capture an ‘alternative’ family photo. This here is a good example of a family photo that doesn’t involve ‘being in front of the camera’.
And of course here are a couple of Nala’s parent’s creative requests!
