Unicorn Smash Cake
Who doesn’t love Unicorns?! I’m pushing into my 30’s now, and Unicorns still make me happy! When my client requested a Unicorn Cake Smash for her baby daughter’s first birthday, I was completely on board! This was going to be so much fun. I had the perfect set up and outfits in mind. The fact that she was the happiest, smiliest baby ever was literally the icing on the cake!
Pre Cake Smash Portraits
Prior to getting down and dirty, I like to try and capture some adorable portrait photos of the baby. The aim is to catch those bright eyes and cute smiles. I use a few simple set ups and a couple of different props. The vintage bath tub is always a client favorite.
The Angel Wings might have been my favorite! So adorable! Look at that cute little face!
The Cake Smash – Get your Unicorn on!
Once all the cute photos have been taken, it is time to pull the cake out and start making a mess. This Unicorn set up was so much fun and might just be one of my favorites so far. The beautiful Cake was made by a local bakery, The Sweet Spot, here in New Milford, Connecticut. They make the majority of the cakes for my cake smash sessions and do an absolute fabulous job! And now, lets just enjoy all this cuteness!
Bath Time!
Every Cake Smash ends with a mini milk bath. This is a great way to get the baby clean but also a perfect method to get some more smiles.
