I love the fact that my studio location allows me to provide my clients with the opportunity to capture elegant studio photographs and outdoors Maternity photos, all within the same session. Sometimes it is hard to choose! I am blessed to be surrounded by ethereal woodlands, magical sunsets and gorgeous open horse fields with dirt roads that drift off into the horizon. It almost sounds like a fairytale.
This gorgeous couple came to me to document this amazing time in their journey. I understand how unusually uncomfortable it must be to meet a complete stranger and bare your pregnant body, but honestly all I see is beauty! It is such an amazing moment in life. Creating life. I feel so honored to capture such a special time. Something they will be able to hold on too forever.
The Studio Session
I always start in the studio. Its a great way to break the ice and get to know my clients a little better. I try to make everything as comfortable as possible. There is a selection of dresses and accessories clients are welcome to borrow in my Maternity Wardrobe. But honestly when it comes to the studio shots, I think simplicity is always better. I like to keep things soft and elegant, try to capture the beauty.
The Outdoor Session
By the time we are done in the studio, the sun is starting to set and the light is starting to become magical. We head on out into the woods and fresh air to capture some ethereal outdoor on location maternity photos. I have a couple fo favorite spots, but most of the time I just chase wherever the light is. There is a combination of posed and candid shots. I love when the husbands decide to join in for this part of the session.
