Sometimes I truly believe I lived another life in another era. I am obsessed with anything crafted from wood, vintage laces, old books and anything that has a hidden story from the past. When I find antique items at the flea market I imagine all the hidden stories the object has lived through. Yeah, I’m weird.
So when Amelia’s mother wanted her Newborn Session styled ‘vintage’ with neutrals, of course I was a little excited. I recently took a trip home to Australia to visit my family. My mother was clearing out the closets to make space. We spent hours going through all the beautiful vintage crochet that her grandmother (my great grandmother) had knitted. There were generations of beautiful laces, table cloths and needle work. Each piece was an artwork. I have tried my go at crochet and after hours of watching Youtube tutorials I official gave up. So when I saw these beautiful pieces I could very much appreciate them as art. A lost art, that my great grandmother taught my mother and that I will never be able to pass along. That being said, I scored a suitcase of gorgeous handmade quilts, crochet and vintage lace. I brought them back to the States and now I get to pass along my Great Grandmothers art in my Newborn Photography. (smile)
I was pretty excited to meet little Amelia! Her mother came in for her Maternity Photos a few months prior, so it was like I had already been introduced to this gorgeous babe way before she made her appearance. Her mother is such a sweet lady and little Amelia is so lucky to have such a strong amazing mother! She is surrounded by so much love.
Amelia’s session was styled with vintage and neutrals. She slept through her newborn session like a rockstar and it was like those little pink baby angel wings were MADE for her!
Enjoy the cuteness. If she doesn’t bring a smile to your face, I don’t know what will!
